The
Cemetery Warrior is a nicely detailed figure that pretty much resembles the two
warriors who are protecting the burial grounds. The figures are dressed in
brownish/grey tattered clothing and wear a skeleton mask. Hasbro did a nice job
in adding some texture to the pants of the figure, giving the pants a
"linen" look. The ends of the clothing are "torn" looking
and Hasbro added some grayish paint splotches around the edges for an
additional worn/dirty look.
The
skeleton mask is glued over the face of the figure. You can look through the
eye sockets of the mask and see the eyes of the figure. Very nice. Hasbro could
have just painted the eyes on the mask, but instead they were thinking this
time around. With the exception of the inability to remove the mask.
The figure
comes with two accessories. A removable satchel is included as well as blowgun
that the characters used in the film to shoot poison darts at Mutt and Indy.
The accessories are nice, except for the blowgun is a little too flexible. It
bends to easy. It should have been made from a stiffer plastic in my opinion,
and suffers the same problem as the Grail Knights sword from Wave 3.
This
particular figure has a high level of articulation as well. 22 points of
articulation are included (5 points in each arm and leg, then a point in the
waist and neck) I am disappointed with the non-removable mask. In the film,
Indy removes the mask of one of the Warriors and reveals their identity. In the
film, the natives believe that these warriors are spirits and that they haunt
the cemetery.. Indy reveals that they are just protectors of the burial
grounds. Human protectors.
Durability
of the figure matches all the other figures released this year. The same
plastic is used, and for the body of the shirt the same rubbery-plastic is
used, giving the clothes a more "life-like" look. The satchel
included is made from the same material as the shirt.

As with
all the figures released this year, the Cemetery Warrior comes with a
"Hidden Relic" packaged in a replica crate. This particular figure
comes with a crate marked with "TOP SECRET Army Intel 9906332 Do Not
Open". In this crate, Hasbro has packaged an artifact and a sticker to mail
in to redeem an exclusive action figure. To see details about the mail-in
figure visit Hasbro's website.
The
"Hidden Relic" included with this figure is a Funerary Mask that has
no significance to any film in the Indiana Jones series, but it's a nice
addition to the action figure line, allowing for more customized gameplay.
The
included "crate' also is small enough to tuck underneath the various
figures arms, especially those with a high amount of articulation. You can make
your figures look like they are carrying the crate. Sounds silly, but it does
add to the playability of the figures.

I really
enjoy this action figure and I wished that Hasbro would have thought a little
more about making the skeleton mask removable. The mask is small, but it could
have been done. Hasbro could have made a removable head as well and interchange
it like McFarlane Toys did with the Ninja figure in their Metal Gear-Solid
action figure line several years ago. This problem would be minor, if the mask
functionality would not be directly related with a scene from the film.
Also there
is a discrepancy with the packaging. The back of the package tells about the
scene involving the Cemetery Warriors hunting Mutt and Indy. It talks about a
"trio of skull-faced warriors". I only remember their being two
warriors ambushing Indy and Mutt. Also most internet sites (including IMDb)
only have two actors credited in the roles. I guess I will have to wait until
the DVD comes out in the next couple months to find out.
